Romania’s Grand Pairing Tour, the first docu-series promoting the Romanian nouvelle cuisine has started! This ambitious project aims to take further the tradition of Romanian gastronomy and reveal new, complete culinary expériences, pairing them with Romanian fine drinks. In the first episode of the series, Chef Mihai Toader, culinary explorer at the restaurant Soro.lume made two unusual pairings inspired from his culinary journeys in Mehedinţi, in a mountain area, where traditional dishes have a special taste: turkey neck dish, sheep cheese and baked peppers complemented by Brâncoveanu Vinars and grilled sheep on eggplant bed with tomato puree, accompanied by Hyperion Fetească Neagră, a wine from The Iconic Estate’s portfolio. His guests, Marinela Ardelean– wine and spirit expert and Lorena Deaconu, The Iconic Estate’s oenologist, tasted the two pairings, spoke about the attributes of the drinks and invite you to discover them by watching Romania’s Grand Pairing Tour.
