Medals for our wines at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2022

The excellent attributes of our wines convinced the jury of the most rigorous, impartial, and influential annual wine competition in the world, International Wine Challenge (IWC), to award them. The UK competition reached its 38th year in 2022.

Our wines have been awarded as follows:

  • Byzantium Rosso 2020 – Silver Medal and 91 IWC points.
  • Colina Piatra Albă, Red Blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc) 2020 - Bronze Medal.
  • Prahova Valley, Fetească Albă 2021 – Bronze Medal.
  • Hyperion, Cabernet Franc 2017 – Commended.

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) has only one annual edition (tasting). In 2022, there were competitors from 52 countries. All wines are tasted blindly, with no information on prices or producer. The wines are grouped by type, region, alcohol, and sugar %, ensuring that similar ones are judged together. A wine that wins an IWC medal is tasted by at least 8 judges before being awarded. IWC's judging teams include influential experts and specialists in the international wine industry, commercial decision makers, buyers and Wine Masters who work together to find the highest quality wines each year.
